Oh  no! There are souls stuck in the River Styx that don't know how to swim!  Become Charon and help ferry them across the river.  Beware: it's dark in there.  Use your lantern to spot hazards and defeat enemies!

Charon's River Ride! was made in 72 hours for Mini Jam 150: Magic.
The limitation of the jam was "Light is the way", so I made Charon's lantern be the key mechanic of the game.  With the lantern you are able to see where boulders are, and burn aggressive ghosts.

Controls:  WSAD to move, mouse to aim  lantern

I know there are plenty of plot holes with the game regarding the lore/mythology of the River Styx, so let's just say it takes place in an alternate universe, lol.


This was my second game jam ever, and this time I tried to focus on adding animations, SFX, and GFX as much as I could see possible, while keeping the number of mechanics low.
